Supported Drives
Atola Forensic Imager supports all 1.8-inch, 2.5-inch, 3.5-inch IDE and SATA hard drives as well as any hard drive or flash media with either IDE or SATA-1/2/3 interface (including those attached via adapters).
However, automatic password removal does not work on certain hard drives.
Automatic password removal works for the following models:
- All Seagate hard drives except 7200.11 models (and newer) - we are currently working on these
- All Toshiba hard drives
- All Western Digital hard drives
- All Maxtor hard drives except STM series (STM models are actually Seagate hard drives)
- All Samsung hard drives with the exception of old hard drives made prior to 2004 and some latest
- All Fujitsu hard drives with the exception of latest models (MHW and newer)
- The following Hitachi Travelstar hard drives are supported: IC25NxxxATMRxx, HTxxxxxxxM9ATxx, HTxxxxxxxG9ATxx, HTxxxxxxxG9SAxx, HTxxxxxxxH9ATxx, HTxxxxxxxH9SAxx, HTxxxxxxxJ9ATxx, HTxxxxxxxJ9SAxx, HTxxxxxxxK9ATxx, HTxxxxxxxK9SAxx, HTxxxxxxxL9SAxx, HTxxxxxxxB9A3xx.
- The following Hitachi DK hard drives are supported: DK23DA, DK23EA, DK23FA. Support for these drives added in version 1.4.5.
- The following Hitachi Endurastar hard drives are supported: J4K50 (HEJxxxxxxF9ATxx), N4K50 (HENxxxxxxF9ATxx).
