Disk Wiping

Bandura is capable of erasing hard drives at rates above 17 GB/min (280 MB/s) and has several wiping options:

Fill with pattern

It is possible to fill the entire media with a selected pattern. It could be either a simple zero-fill, or a custom pattern of any length. Custom patterns can be loaded into Bandura with an external USB flash stick.

It is also possible to fill each sector of the drive with its LBA number (this is usually needed for research purposes).

Security Erase

This feature works in accordance with Security Erase command defined in the ATA/ATAPI standard and utilizes hard drive's internal security subsystem to perform the erasing.

NIST 800-88 method

This is the industry standard of secure data destruction. Data wiping is done in accordance with NIST Media Sanitization Procedures.

DoD 5220.22-M method

This is another widely recognized standard. Data wiping is done in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual.
